Design and Display
The Tecno Spark 30’s design differs from its predecessor, the Tecno Spark 20. The major design change in the standard Spark 30 is the use of a circular camera module in the centre instead of the square-shaped camera module in the top left corner. The camera module has a shiny metal ring which elvates the design. The back is made up of plastic and has a matte finish with a rectangular strip across the camera module which has a forged carbon fibre design.
The Bumblebee Special Edition gets the iconic Yellow Colour styling from the popular franchise, Transformers. The camera placement on the Bumblebee edition is the same as the standard edition with the camera module in a shiny yellow colour. The camera module’s outer ring resembles hazard stripes, adding to the robotic design. The camera module also depicts the headlight of the car. It has a central black stripe with a textured, carbon-fibre look which is flanked by yellow panels. The “TECNO SPARK” logo and a small Transformers Autobots logo are placed below the camera, completing the Bumblebee-inspired look whereas the yellow outlines frame the design of the edge that captures Bumblebee’s iconic style.
On the front, the Tecno Spark 30 has a premium look with the hole-punch cutout in the centre which houses the selfie camera. Hole-punch cutout in the budget price range is rare with many brands opting for the traditional water-drop notch. It features a 6.78-inch display that uses an IPS LCD panel with a 90 Hz refresh rate and a resolution is 2460 x 1080. It has a peak brightness of 800 nits which is decent enough for viewing in direct sunlight. Another plus point the Spark 30 has is its IP64 rating for water and dust resistance.
Performance and Storage
The Tecno Spark 30 is powered by the Mediatek Helio G91 chipset built on a 12 nm process which is commonly found in budget smartphones of this range. It has an octa-core CPU, with two Cortex-A75 cores running at 2.0 GHz for demanding tasks and six Cortex-A55 cores at 1.8 GHz for efficiency. The Mali-G52 MC2 GPU handles graphics which is okay enough for decent gaming.
The Tecno Spark 30 runs on HIOS 14 based on Android 14 offering a decent user experience. There are a few preinstalled apps which can be removed easily. As for the memory option, the Tecno Spark 30 is available with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage.
Camera
The Tecno Spark 30 comes equipped with a 64MP rear camera powered by the SONY IMX682 sensor, which captures sharp and detailed photos. The SONY IMX682 is generally found in smartphones which are generally available in premium budget smartphones. The rear camera is accompanied by a rear quad flash, allowing for well-lit photos in low-light conditions. The camera supports video recording at up to 1440p and 1080p at 30fps which captures decent video at the price range.
On the front, the Spark 30 features a 13MP camera with a dual-color temperature flash which delivers decent selfies. This front camera also supports 1080p video recording at 30fps for video calling and videos.
Battery and Others
The Tecno Spark 30 is powered by a 5000 mAh battery with medium usage that lasts through a full day of regular use. It supports 18W wired charging, allowing for fast charging when needed. For connectivity, the phone includes Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, ensuring reliable wireless connections and it supports LTE for smooth mobile data usage.
The Spark 30 is equipped with a side-mounted fingerprint sensor for convenient and quick unlocking. It also has dual SIM support, making it ideal for users who want to manage two numbers on one smartphone. As for audio, the smartphone has Dual Stereo Speakers and a 3.5mm jack for earphones.
The Tecno Spark 30 is available in two colours, Stellar Shadow and the Bumblebee Special Edition.
As for pricing, the Tecno Spark 30 costs Rs 22,499 for the Stellar Shadow colour option whereas the Bumblebee Special Edition costs Rs 22,990. Both options have one memory option of 8GB RAM and 256GB storage.
